Great product, difficult assembly

I ordered this sofa from Hayneedle (another website), because they had a sale over Labor Day weekend, so it was a little cheaper. I paid 539 bucks. Their delivery estimate was accurate. Shipping was free. The item was delivered by Home Direct (they brought it into my home). The packaging was in good shape. The size of the box was about 12 inches deep by 82 inches long and 50 inches tall; the sofa is shipped in "bed" mode, so it is flat in the box. Aside from plastic wrap and some very thin styrofoam wrap, there is no other padding inside the box to protect the sofa. There were about 6 small holes (each about the size of an inch) in the box, and one hole about 3 inches wide. I used my flashlight to peer into the holes to make sure there was no damage to the sofa (before signing for and accepting delivery)...everything looked fine.The box was easy to open, and it was easy to cut-up; the cut-up pieces fit easily in my 48 gallon recycle garbage can.The delivery receipt said it weighed 152 pounds.The legs/hardware were included in a box that was zipped inside a small compartment underneath the sofa. The 4 legs were easy to install (4 bolts per leg); a small bolt wrench and an allen wrench were included (although I found it easier to use a small adjustable wrench that I had, plus the allen wrench). The sofa sits firmly on the floor (no wobbling).The welding on the legs was a bit disappointing. There are about 6 welds around each leg; the welds hold the tubular leg to a rectangular metal plate; the 4 bolt holes are in the metal plate. It might be okay (everything is fine for now), but it would have been better if they had welded the tubular leg to the metal plate...all the way around. If a leg ever does break at the weld, then I'm confident that I can remove the bolts and take the 2 parts to a local shop to have them properly welded together.The bottom part of the legs swivel a little (not sure why; I don't recommend playing with it). The bottom of the leg has a hard plastic pad. Since my sofa is sitting on a hardwood floor, I attached felt pads to the hard plastic pad.The sofa is comfortable. And when it is reclined flat (like a bed), there is NO bar down the middle. It is just as comfortable as a bed as it is a sofa.From the picture, you can see that the sofa is black. But you can't see the stitching; it's white. The stitching looks fine. The sofa fabric is faux leather. I think the sofa looks very handsome and classy.The length of the sofa is about 79.5 inches.The seat depth is about 22.75 inches. I measured that from where my butt hits the back of the sofa to where my legs hang over the sofa.The sofa seat sits about 20 inches from the floor (measured from the floor to the top part of the seat cushion).When the sofa is laid flat (like a bed), it is about 47 inches wide.When I push the sofa against the wall, there is about 1 inch gap between the wall and the top part of the sofa. The sofa sits on a metal tubular frame; the tubes are about 1.5 inches in diameter. That 1 inch gap that I mentioned earlier is due to the frame. It's almost not worth mentioning. However, I mention it because some other sofas like this sometimes have larger frames that really stick out in the back (but this sofa is not like that).You can see from the picture that there appears to be 2 cushions on this sofa. They are connected. The bottom cushion is about 6.5 inches tall and it is firm. The cushion that sits on top of it is about 4 inches tall and it is not firm. This is not the kind of sofa that you sink into, but it is comfortable (and that 4 inch layer is what makes it comfortable). I would describe that 4 inch layer as a cross between soft and firm. I think it's just right.The sofa sits about 8 inches from the floor (measured from the floor to the bottom of the metal frame).The sofa is screwed into the frame (except for the back and armrests, which move up and down).The back of the sofa has 3 positions (sofa, lounger, bed); the back is split in two, and each side reclines independently of the other. The armrests also have 3 positions (down, slightly raised, and armrest mode). Listen to the clicks to know when these parts reach the various positions. To fully recline a part, raise it all the way up and then lower it. It works well. For the most part, I plan to use it as a sofa with the armrests down. I may raise one of the armrests occasionally to use it as a headrest while laying down on the sofa.I'm 5'9" and weigh 165 pounds. When sitting on the sofa, 4 of me can fit on it with the armrests down (but there is no room to spare).I uploaded some photos of the sofa and the literature that came with it.The sofa is made in China. The USA company is Lifestyle Solutions of Fremont, California. The product code is BB-MDM-FA-BK. It comes with a one year warranty.The literature says the sofa is part of Lifestyle Solutions' SEBU collection, but I don't see that collection on their website. Surprised to be super happy with this purchase

My husband and I ordered this sofa from Amazon. We got free shipping and paid close to $600. We had seen this same sofa advertised under a different name for up to $900 elsewhere.Ordering a sofa, sight unseen, from the internet is a bit unnerving. We had no idea if some piece of junk was going to show up, but this sofa appeared to meet our needs. And much to our surprise we love it. It looks nice, has a good weight to it, seems pretty sturdy in terms of construction, and flexibly works for our small space. The click clak mechanisms work great. You can raise and lower the arms or back really easily. We like the look of it without arms, but when you want to lie down and read, being able to suddenly create arms is great. And much to our surprise we have used the lounger position on one side of the couch. The bed seemed plenty comfortable.

What a great sofa for a super price.

To start the color is definitely a "burnt orange" and less "camel". The delivery was fast and the team that brought this sofa into my home was prompt and courteous and professional. This Knoll Style sofa looks amazing and feels amazing. It has a firm but comfortable sit and very pillow can be rotated for even wear. It has solid construction and I get have gotten tons on compliments. This was exactly what my wife and I wanted and at an excellent value.

It's not worth it!! Worst purchase I've made on Amazon!

I bought this sectional despite negative reviews because it looked nice and I could not pass up the great price. I have now owned it for about 4 months and I am constantly regretting buying it! Even for the cheap price, it is not worth it! I have been gentle with the sectional yet the cushions are constantly getting deformed and misshapen. I have reshaped them several times but they still look warped or go back to their usual funky form within days. Also, NEVER EVER get anything on this couch! I have used microfiber cleaner to clean anything that has been spilled and even after using recommended cleaners, the couch maintains what looks like water stains. What looked like a great couch, now looks like a misshapen and nasty piece of furniture from what looks like a ton of water stains & the deformed cushions. No matter how cheap this sectional is, it's not worth it!!

I'm reviewing this for my mother who I put it together for. Came in 3 boxes not that big. Not that heavy. Delivered 4 days ahead of time !!! The directions seemed IKEA like but once u look at everything really easy. The main thing I have to say is look very carefully inside all pieces for the hardware hidden in back pieces 2 bags. Took about 45 minutes. Get your own wrench/pliers theres is useless. I was VERY happy with the look of it was kinda worried. The perfect size for her condo. So it seems hard to sit on very stiff but the best way I can explain it is It's hard but comfy at the same time. Not very comfy to sleep on though " I Know " . The cushions feel like different heights. Thats the only reason I gave it 4 stars.

ok but not for everyday use

I purchased this sectional originally from another supplier in mushroom. When it arrived much to my surprise the color was hazelnut and i was not waiting another 4 weeks for another to be ordered. After the shock of waiting four weeks for something to arrive in the wrong color I actually am glad that i did get the hazelnut. The stock photos are very deceiving and do not give the sectional justice. The color is alot more creamy and lighter then in the photo. And when i ordered the mushroom I got to see it on display and the color was almost a white grey. Pretty but not as nice as the hazelnut.. bottom line try a local dealer in your area before purchase.. this is a very popular sectional and most have the fabric samples. As far as assembly my husband put it together in less then an hour. the two pieces do not attach so we went and bought little brackets to hook them to keep them from sliding apart. Like other reviews mentioned they do pack the cushions inside of the couch and ottoman, so they are a little deformed but not bad. Over time im sure it will straighten. The couch is used in a formal sitting room so it will not be sat on everyday which is good because I don't think it could stand a chance with a family with children...maybe a couple or a person living on their own.and to be quite honest its a nice sitting couch but not something you can kick back and relax on because its not to comfy.and i thought the ottoman opened but it doesn't.At least the cushions do zip open for cleaning but i would be scared to see what happens after a cycle in the wash... bottom line nice couch good for looks alot nicer then photos but if you have a bigger family and want this as an everyday couch spend the extra money on something nicer!

Sofa to fill our needs

I wanted something that could be slept on, had storage and fit our space. I had my concerns when this showed up. There is some assembly and it is not 'easy'... but doable with more than one person. I am very much hoping that this sofa stands the test of time. It is comfortable but not overly roomy to 'curl up on it'... It is not a deep set sofa, but you also don't sink down in it and have trouble getting up out of it either.I love how it looks and functions in our space. It has a clean modern feel to it. The sofa is comfortable. It will get the test of time in our home. I hope it passes.

Versatile Piece of Furniture

This happens to be the second one I purchased. The first one was purchased from our local Ashley Furniture Store over a year ago and has been heavily used by my son and his friends in his music studio. My son no longer sleeps in his bed. He sleeps on this piece every night. It's strong, versatile and the best part is the storage underneath. It doesn't appear to be all leather or maybe no leather at all but it looks really good. I expect that this flip flop will hold up very well and we look forward to enjoying it for a long time. It's not a very soft, cushy piece of furniture but it works for our den where our kids friends congregate with the TV and all the video games. The seller kept in contact with me right up until the piece was actually delivered. Took about a week to arrive from CA. For the price, fit, finish and quality, I highly recommend you buy the piece.

Home Theatre seating

I just moved into a townhouse and wanted something to comfortably watch my big screen tv. This seating is perfect. Very comfortable and very functional. Drink holders and storage inside each wedge for DVDs. I looked at all of the furniture stores in the area and could not find this product and certainly could not find the same value. It shipped in 5 big boxes so it was a little bit of a job to get from the truck to the living room. Also one of the plastic feet on one wedge was busted but it was no problem to get a replacement. This is the ultimate home seating for watching sports and DVDs on a big screen tv.

The couch arrived on a pallet in 5 separate boxes. The boxes are as follows: recliners (2), armrest (2), and middle loveseat (1). I managed to bring the boxes in from my garage (where it was delivered) by myself, but they were about 75-100 pounds each. Assembly was fairly easy. I did not find any instructions, but it was fairly easy to figure on my own. The recliners come in two pieces, and the back of the recliner pushes down onto the base and essentially snaps in place once it's lined up. The rest of the pieces just slide together at the base. Wasn't too bad, although a couple of the pieces took me a bit to line up the metal pegs into the metal bracket of the other piece, and on one in particular it was a tight fight that took some maneuvering. All in all, I completed the installation by myself in under 1 hour, but would definitely recommend two people unless your adventurous and impatient like me.As for the functionality, the couch looks impressive. It appears of quality construction and the material looks very nice. It's a very visually striking couch. The recliners lean all the way back - you can nearly lay flat on them. The recliners are medium to small sized. It's not the size of a full Lazy Boy style recliner in that my legs hang a little off the end (I'm 5'11"), and it's not as wide as a full sized stand alone recliner. It seats 4 very comfortably. I particularly liked the 4 drink holders and 2 roomy compartments. It eliminated a need for end tables and gave a nice place to hide remotes and game controllers.It's tough to describe comfort or how it feels, but I would say it's on the stiff side - it's not a plush couch you sink into, and it's obviously not one for laying down on - unless you lay back on the recliner or if you're 4 foot tall and can fit in the middle. I think it is comfortable, and what I expected for sitting and enjoying a home theater experience.All in all I was very pleased with the look of the couch, quality of construction, and it was what I expected in comfort.

Great for my playroom.

I am pretty happy with this loveseat. It looks fantastic and you can't beat the price. I couldn't find anything similar at local stores and it was awesome that this was on my doorstep in a week! It arrived in great shape and the packaging is actually kind of genius.However, if you are planning on relaxing on it for any length of time, it is not comfortable. The arms are really hard and low, and the cushions super stiff. But if you are just planning to let your kids crawl all over it, or want a place that is better to sit than the floor, it works, and looks good doing it.

DON'T BUY -- It's not even bonded leather '' It's 100% junk PVC made in CHINA poorly

OMG -- It's not leather how can Amazon allow the title as is" Coaster Samuel Black Contemporary Leather Sofa " It says bonded leather in the details, but it's not even that either. The product sample tag on the sofa says genuine leather and is, but that's all the leather you will get. I think if the seller can't advertise this without being totally misleading they shouldn't get the business and should be flagged as risky. Imagine a sofa you think is leather shows up and it's plastic . Then you will be forced to pay for return shipping and deal with them and your energy will be drained day after day battling the vendor and in shock Amazon is allowing it. There are guidelines the government puts on sellers of furniture and I read it many times and it clearly says that the material if mentioned needs to be the same so them saying leather in the title and in the product features then in the details they say bonded leather is misleading and not OK to do as a business practice. Many people will be fooled with this listing and I feel sorry for them, so that's why I'm here and expressing my view. Worst experience on Amazon I have had yet. Comment if you think I'm right or wrong.

I was a little hesitant buying a sofa online, but couldn't pass up such a great deal! The sofa arrived within 2 weeks and was very well-packaged. After unpacking I was very impressed with the condition and appearance. It looks just like the picture and seems to be comfortable and sturdy. Overall, I am 100% happy with the product and encourage others to buy with confidence. Thanks!
